However, there is another game that has garnered plenty of fame in the arena of strategy and cunningness Stratego.
And it works! Not only does it feel like something new, but it also evokes nostalgia for early-mid 2000s Maiden and some of their classic stuff too. When you think about a game that involves long-term planning and strategy, probably chess comes to mind. Again, it’s like a combination of “Brave New World”, “Dance Of Death” and Bruce’s solo stuff. And its great that the new album includes at least one of these 🙂Īll in all, this is a song that just gets better every time I listen to it. Yes, I really love the band’s longer epic songs too ( and they apparently make up the majority of songs on the upcoming album), but there’s something to be said for short, intense metal songs too. The song’s relatively short five-minute length helps a lot here too. Plus, although this song is very reminiscent of early-mid 2000s Maiden, it definitely reminds me a little of their classic stuff the more I listen to it. Then again, since “The Final Frontier”, the band haven’t started their albums at a hundred miles an hour and – if this advance review from Loudwire is correct – the opening moments of the new album will follow this slower modern pattern. STRATEGO GAME META FULL
If memory serves, it has been about a decade since Maiden released multiple singles before a full album ( and, no, the “Empire Of The Clouds” vinyl from the previous album doesn’t count since it was released after the full album).
